Preference will given to "adult" students- those who have interrupted their education to work or raise a family and are now seeking futrhter education to better themselves. Preference will be given to "average" students whose grade point average in high school or a prior college experience reflects C or B work. Must enroll in min of 9 credits per semester Prior recipients of teh martens scholarship are eligible for continuing scholarship suport for up to 6 semesters provided that they maintain a C average, complete at least nine credits pers semester and are other wise making satifactory progress toward completion of a degree or certificate. Students previously awarded a scholarship may "stop out" from their coursework one time for not more than 2 semesters and be eligible to reapply for a Martens scholarship upon resuing their studies. A committee at SMCC with work with the Foundation to find recipients.
