Paradise Valley Community College
I) The purpose of this Fund is to provide a scholarship to Education students enrolled at Paradise Valley Community College who participate in the Art of Storytelling class/Festival of Tales storytelling program. 2) Consideration will be given to qualified applicants who meet the following criteria: a. Have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA b. Are enrolled as a certificate or degree-seeking student taking a minimum of 3 credit hours/semester in the semester of the award c. Have earned a minimum of 6 credit hours from PVCC d. Students will have completed The Art of Storytelling class (EDU292) at PVCC and/or have volunteered at the PVCC Festival of Tales evcnt(s) 3) Recipients must maintain a cumulative college GPA of2.5 each term 4) Demonstration of financial need (as determined by the FAFSA) is not a criteria for this award. 5) Scholarship award is for one term and is to be used for tuition for a 3 credit Education class offered at PVCC 6) Recipients arc to be selected by a special Committee convened by the OtTicc of Financial Aid in consultation with the Teacher Development Center Coordinator to include the donor and two faculty/adjunct litculty members in the Education/Early Childhood Education program. 7) Annual award amounts: a. arc to be determined by the number of eligible applicants b. with a minimum award of$231 (current rate for a 3 credit class) to each qualified applicant 8) The application process will consist of completion of the Ron Bleed Art of Storytelling Scholarship application form from the PVCC Oflicc of Financial Aid.
