“Lead by example is my philosophy.”
During a twelve-year career in the military, Adrian held countless leadership positions. He both relishes and is proud of his years of service. Yet, he has begun a new chapter in his life: to become a registered nurse and pursue a medical career, hopefully at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
He was inspired by his experience of being a living kidney donor for his daughter who at nearly two years old needed a kidney transplant. She is now nine years and leading an active and healthy life. This experience shaped who he is and the reason he is pursuing a career in healthcare.
As a full time student at CGCC, he is working toward a Bachelor of Science in Nursing through the Nursing Concurrent Enrollment Program with Arizona State University. On campus, he is an active member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Veteran Student Organization, Hispanic Student Organization and the Pre-Health Club. In midst of a full class load and the demands of family life, he has also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and Rely for Life.
