The City of Scottsdale has partnered with Scottsdale Community College (SCC) and the Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation, to provide SCC students with IT internships to gain real world experience in the areas of Web Design/Development, and Desktop Support/Help Desk.
“This internship in the IT Department has shown me the path I would need to take to eventually become a Network Engineer, whether it is for City of Scottsdale or another company/entity,” said Andrew L., one of the student interns.
When asked how his education prepared him for the internship, he replied, “classroom learning has had an amazing impact as well. Before applying and accepting this internship, I had taken a PC repair class (A+ 1102) that actually gave me a good idea of what this role would be like, so when I was eventually on-site working, it was not far off at all from what I expected.”
